Products

What hardness testers do you offer?

We offer a wide range of solutions including Rockwell, Brinell, Vickers, Knoop, Universal, Shore, IRHD and even Martens hardness testers.

We can customize any solution thanks to our many years of experience and expertise in the sector

What accessories do you offer?

Our standard accessories include traditional and special anvils (flat, V-shaped, with clamp, round, etc.), indenters, test blocks, motorized tables and manual tables. Each accessory can be customized according to specific needs. For some application examples, visit our blog

Are your hardness testers compliant with ISO or ASTM, NADCAP and IATF standards?

Absolutely, all our durometers strictly follow the ISO and ASTM reference standards for each chosen hardness method. Some instruments also meet more specific standards such as IIS and GOST, and can also be requested by NADCAP and IATF certified entities.

Do you have specific products for schools and universities?

Of course! We receive many requests from high schools for educational equipment and from Universities for research and development purposes. We have already established relationships with many such entities, even going so far as to design custom-made equipment, both entry-level and more advanced. This is the case, for example, of the Martens durometer branded Axiotek which is currently used at the Polytechnic of Turin for R&D.

Durometer selection

I don't know which durometer is right for my needs. Can you help me?

Of course! Call us or send us an email: we’ll be happy to help you. You can find all our contacts here.

What information do you need to recommend the right durometer?

Some information we may ask you for an evaluation are:

What type of material do you want to test (cast iron, steel, ceramic, glass…)?

How big are the samples to be tested? How thick are they?

Do the samples to be tested have complex geometries (e.g. teeth)?

How often do you use the durometer on a daily/weekly basis?

Do you have any catalogs that I can consult?

You can find the catalogs to download directly on the page of the durometer of your interest. If you need specific information or details, contact us: You can find all our contacts here.

What are the maximum/minimum dimensions of the samples I can measure?

Generally, it is not so much the maximum size that is a problem (you can always opt for a portable durometer in these cases) as the minimum size and thickness of the sample to be tested. Some durometers are more suitable for testing on small dimensions by definition, such as micro-durometers. In others, it is sufficient to use a suitable sample anchoring support.

Remember that in any case, each hardness analysis method follows international standards (ISO, ASTM, DIN, etc.) which have the specific purpose, among others, of specifically defining the minimum and maximum thicknesses of the sample under examination.

If you have any doubts or perplexities, call us or send us an email: we will be happy to help you. You can find all our contacts here.

Orders and purchases

Can I get a quote for a durometer?

Fill out the contact form you can find on this page, indicating the durometer for which you would like a quote. You will receive it directly in your inbox.

How can I place an order?

Simply contact us through this form, indicating the durometer for which you would like a quote. You will receive it directly in your inbox.

Do you offer a warranty on your durometers? How long is it? Can I request a warranty extension?

Of course! All our durometers have a 12-month warranty from the date of purchase, which can be extended upon request. Even the durometers we retrofit are covered by a warranty (only for the components we have updated or inserted).

Delivery and shipping

What are your delivery terms?

Delivery depends on factors such as the destination country and production times. All information that we will discuss together during the sales process.

In which countries do you ship?

We ship throughout Italy, Europe and EXTRA-EU.

Hardness tester assistance and problems

Do you offer on-site or remote assistance?

Yes, one of our technicians can provide you with on-site or remote assistance if the intervention is minor or can be managed remotely.

My durometer is not giving accurate readings. What should I do?

There could be several reasons: it depends on the size of the parts being checked or on any impacts the durometer may have received. Call us or send us an email for assistance. You can find all our contacts here

I lost my durometer manual. How can I get a new one?

Call us or send us an email: we will be happy to help you. You can find all our contacts here.

I need a spare part for my hardness tester. How can I get one?

Call us or send us an email: we will be happy to help you. You can find all our contacts here.

My indenter is chipped. Can I still use it?

A chipped indenter is never a good sign and should be replaced immediately. Remember that it is precisely through the impression generated by the indenter that the hardness value is obtained (be it Rockwell, Brinell, Vickers, Shore, Knoop, IRHD or Martens): if the indenter is damaged, the impression will be deformed, and therefore the hardness value will not be correct.

Call us or send us an email: we will be happy to help you. You can find all our contacts here.

Training

Do you offer training on the use of your durometers?

Yes, training on the use can be requested at any time and for any durometer (even retrofitted solutions). It is aimed at both those who already have experience with other durometers and those who are more inexperienced and want to be guided in the quality control task.

Is it possible to receive a certificate of attendance for your durometer training?

Yes, for advanced training courses we issue nominal paper certificates of attendance.

Where is your durometer training held?

Training can be carried out on-site or remotely. We generally recommend training upon delivery of the durometer, so that you can practice under the supervision of one of our technicians.

Is it possible to receive online training?

Certainly! One of our technicians will follow you closely throughout the entire training course.

Call us or send us an email to book one. You can find all our contacts here.

Calibration, adjustment and maintenance

Do you offer calibration, adjustment and/or maintenance services?

Yes, all our services extend to any type of hardness tester (Vickers, Brinell and Rockwell) of any brand on the market. Visit the dedicated page for more details.

How often should I have my durometer checked?

Generally, this check should be carried out, in compliance with the regulations, every 12 months. However, the timing is shorter when the instrument is used frequently.

What can I do to extend the life of my hardness tester?

There are many ways to make your durometer last longer, in this article we have talked about the 2 main methods to take care of it.

Accredited calibration

How does durometer calibration work?

The calibration and calibration services we offer are direct and indirect in accordance with current regulations. Simply book an appointment by calling us or sending us an email indicating the last calibration carried out, the durometer model and the scales you would like to calibrate.

We will together establish a suitable date to come to you and carry out the calibration.

Are you an ACCREDIA certified LAT 17025 center?

Yes, we are ISO 17025 certified for the ACCREDITED calibration of Brinell, Rockwell and Vickers durometers. You can find all the details here.

Why is it important to calibrate my durometer?

Calibration is by far the best way to ensure the long-term functionality of your durometer. Without periodic calibration, you will never be sure that the hardness values generated are actually correct.

How often should I calibrate my durometer?

Generally, this check should be carried out, in compliance with the regulations, every 12 months. However, the timing is shorter when the instrument is used frequently.

Retrofit

What types of durometers can you retrofit?

Our retrofit service extends to all types of hardness testers (Vickers, Brinell and Rockwell) of any brand on the market. Depending on the type of durometer you want to upgrade, the retrofit can consist of a simple update of the electronics, adding a front panel for use, or even a complete update of the optical analysis.

For more details, visit our dedicated page: click here.

Do you provide a warranty for your retrofitting service?

The warranty for retrofitted durometers lasts 6 months and is intended to cover only the components subject to retrofit (generally the electronic part of the impression optical analysis, or the updated front panel). All other components are not covered by the Axiotek warranty.

How long does it take to retrofit my durometer?

It depends on the type of durometer you want to upgrade: generally, upgrading Vickers and Brinell hardness testers takes longer than Rockwell ones, as they require more mechanical interventions.
