We are proud of the opportunity that the Polytechnic of Turin (one of the most important Engineering University of Italy)has given us to collaborate closely with university engineering research in the industrial field.
The department of “Management and production Engineering” has in fact used our HU (Universal Hardness) ISRHU09 instrument to evaluate an exceeding of the limits that the calibration of IIT (Instrumented Indentation) measuring instruments involve in the presence of non-linearity.
This study has been developed in the article of the journal “Precision Engineering” entitled “Calibration of machine platform nonlinearity in Instrumented Indentation Test in the macro range” which has led to interesting scientific results.
Instrumented indentation is considered an interesting alternative to the tensile test, as it allows non-destructive measurement of various parameters such as Universal Hardness, Young’s modulus, breaking load and relaxation of the material examined.
To complete this ambitious project, the Polytechnic of Turin has conducted significant calibration experiments, carried out in collaboration with our Axiotek technicians and the Italian Institute of Metrological Research (INRiM).
