Designed to perform Vickers, Brinell, Rockwell, Plastic tests, Carbon tests and Knoop tests taking advantage of the extreme comfort of a completely automatic test cycle, from sample positioning to the reading and analysis of the resulting indentation.
In full compliance with the international reference standards, including ISO 6506, ISO 6507, ISO 4545, ASTM E10, ASTM E92, and ASTM E384.
XM90 is dedicated to the measurement of ferrous, non-ferrous and plastic material samples of extremely small sizes – such as metallographic samples – and medium to large samples – such as finished objects up to one tonne in weight, for which the collection of samples is not possible.
It specialises in performing Vickers hardness tests, making it particularly suitable for laboratory environments, without, however, excluding use in the production department.
The tilted revolver turret can be configured and expanded as desired. Choose the preferred combination:
It’s been designed to measure samples of various geometries, from the simplest to the most complex, such as coil springs, gears and small metal components, to simple single or multiple specimen holders.
The aim is to ensure high productivity: the turret can be configured by combining it with a specific user, which, once selected, enables full smart and automatic lens-indenter positioning and matching.
Moreover, thanks to its 20° inclination and recirculating ball technology, quietness and a large view of the sample being tested are always guaranteed

The hardness test is 25% faster than when using the most common hardness testers on the market.
This is something that we can guarantee thanks to the work of our R&D department, responsible for developing several implementations.
Here are some examples:
Our R&D department personally designed the software of the XM90, as is the case with each of our hardness testers. It is precisely this essential aspect that allows you to have a specific custom configuration: you are free to choose the functions in which you are most interested.
Without the constraints or restrictions of preconfigured solutions
And what if I have second thoughts in the future?
New functions can be included at any time. In specific, the instrument can be configured for:
Performing CHD tests (case hardening depth tests), NHD tests (nitriding hardness depth tests), and even Jominy curves.
Execution of standardised welding tests: to determine the hardness values of the base material, the thermally altered zone (HAZ) and the filler material according to ISO 9015 and ISO 22826 (on request).
CAD Free drawing: allowing the creation of orientation geometries for the execution and reading of the indentation
