PORTABLE SHORE HARDNESS TESTER

Whether you choose the “classic” analogue version or the “modern” electronic version, our portable hardness tester will accompany you everywhere while carrying out your Shore hardness tests.

The tungsten carbide indenter and the movement of the internal gears with low friction coefficient are just some of the secrets of their speed and precision.

Robust, handy, intuitive and long-lasting

Analogue Shore: the classic that never fades

If you are looking for a robust and reliable hand-held measuring instrument for on-site Shore hardness testing (on a construction site, the production floor, etc.), the analogue version is for you.

We’ve been making this model for decades, following a proven formula.

Its uniqueness is in the high-quality components, which ensure long life: we have customers who have been using theirs constantly for 20 years now, without ever changing them!

These factors are what make our portable hardness tester a product of excellence:

  • Robust thanks to its fully mechanical operation, which even allows to perform Shore hardness tests under extreme conditions. Are you not convinced? Check it out, we "tested" it at the highest hut in Europe: link
  • Ease of handling, as the ergonomics and the compact sizes of this portable hardness tester (height: 125 mm; weight: 250 g) make it particularly suitable for on-site testing, without precluding its use in the laboratory, thanks to its compatibility with all our bench top stands;
  • Intuitiveness allowing to perform Shore hardness tests with ease. Simply apply pressure through the hardness tester to the sample to be tested and the pointer will indicate the hardness reading on the high visibility analogue dial. A peak needle (optional) can store the maximum value detected.

Our portable analogue Shore hardness tester is available for all Shore hardness tests on all polymer, elastomer, rubber and gel-like materials (such as plastics, rubber, medical goods, papers and sponges): A, B, C, D, DO, E, M, O, OO, OOO in accordance with the ISO 48-4 and ASTM D2240 international reference standards.

Moreover, thanks to special applications, it can even measure the hardness of extremely small samples, hollow samples or samples with curved surfaces, such as O-rings, tires, rubber rollers, etc.

DEMAND THE BEST FOR YOUR SHORE HARDNESS TESTS

Electronic Shore: not a simple hardness tester

A UNIVERSAL, VERSATILE, ERGONOMIC AND COMFORTABLE INSTRUMENT

Our portable electronic hardness tester ensures maximum accuracy and versatility in your Shore hardness tests in the lab, with a true reading resolution of 0.1 units.

BE SURPRISED BY ITS VERSATILITY

The Electronic Shore hardness tester is at its best in the lab when used with our bench top stands. However, thanks to its integrated battery, it is still a portable hardness tester: it can be quickly removed at any time from the stand and used as a stand-alone portable machine to complete tests directly on the production floor or wherever required.

And it can perform all the required Shore hardness tests: the control console can be combined with up to four different measuring probes with automatic recognition, helping to save a lot of money. Because we designed it to be truly universal.

CONTROL CONSOLE SEPARATE FROM THE MEASURING PROBE

Our portable electronic hardness tester has been designed to make the most of its ergonomics. This means that we can offer you maximum comfort in handling and operating the probe.

ALL UNDER CONTROL

Handy numerical keypad, dot matrix LCD display with high character visibility in any lighting condition, user-friendly interface: the control console is your main ally when performing Shore hardness tests.

It makes sure that you always have all your data at your fingertips. And within your field of view.

HIGH COMFORT DURING YOUR WORK

Why still use pen and paper to note down the values of the measurements taken?

Our portable electronic Shore hardness tester doesn’t just measure the data: it saves it, processes it and sends it wherever you want. Our instrument has been designed for the more demanding user.

  • Integrated RS232 data output for immediate connection to printers or computers;
  • Three different measurement modes (peak, continuous, with timer);
  • Status of the measured hardness value compared with the set tolerance;
  • Ability to customize and store up to 10 statistical sessions and up to 3500 results;
  • Display of statistics, automatic averages and standard deviations in real time.

Our portable electronic Shore hardness tester is available with dedicated probes for all Shore hardness tests on polymer, elastomer, rubber and gel-like materials (such as plastics, rubber, medical items, papers and sponges): A, B, C, D, DO, E, M, O, OO, OOO in accordance with international reference standards ISO 48-4 and ASTM D2240.

Maximum repeatability and accuracy in your Shore hardness tests

Bench top stands for portable Shore hardness tester

Use your portable hardness tester, either analogue or electronic, with one of our bench top stands. You will enjoy maximum repeatability and accuracy in your Shore hardness tests.

You will enjoy maximum repeatability and accuracy in your Shore hardness tests.

All this thanks to the correct orthogonality between the indenter and the sample being tested, the uniformity in the application of the force and the control system ensuring appropriate positioning of the stand on the workbench.

All the precision and safety you need in one instrument

All this is for you, to help you minimize human influence when performing tests in full compliance with ISO 48-4 and ASTM D2240 standards.

All in one bench top stand

Our system with addition and removal of calibrated masses allows you to use the same stand for all the Shore hardness tests, from the 5 kg for the D method, to 400 g for the OOO method.

HERE IS OUR RANGE OF BENCH TOP STANDS FOR YOUR PORTABLE SHORE HARDNESS TESTER: THE MANUAL DX 136 VERSION AND THE MOTORIZED DX 835 VERSION

Our bench top stands

DX 136

• Manual bench top stand

DX 835

• Motorised bench top stand

Simple and suitable for all needs: this is DX 136, our manual bench top stand compatible with your analogue or electronic Shore portable hardness tester.

Place it in your laboratory, production department, technical office, or warehouse: its compact size and sturdy construction make it suitable for any environment. A true “no frills” stand that is easy to transport and can be used wherever needed. Due to its completely mechanical operation, it does not require power supply.

Simply press a lever: by applying the force prescribed by the reference standard, the hardness tester makes contact with the test specimen.

With 180 mm available to accommodate your samples (which can be increased on request), the DX136 is the ideal hand-held bench top stand for all Shore hardness tests.

Our most demanding customers want maximum precision, speed and automation in their Shore hardness testing. And our DX 835 was conceived just for that.

A motorized bench top stand that can also electronically control the descent speed of the measuring probe, with programmable values from 0.5 mm/s to 16 mm/s: developed to meet the regulatory requirements of Shore AM and M tests, but usable for all Shore test methods in conjunction with the relevant portable hardness tester.

The motorised system does the work for you: just place the sample being tested in position and press a button. This will save you valuable time that you can spend on other productive activities.

DX 835 is designed to help you perform Shore hardness tests on all types of samples. Even on the most complex objects such as O-rings: the plate is compatible with accessories specially developed to secure tiny objects in position.
